AGCC Secondary | Information for Families

The Secondary School Association of Gold Coast Colleges (AGCC) Sport competition for Semester 1 commences on Thursday 7 March and concludes on Thursday 23 May.


TRAINING

Training Schedule:

  • Training sessions will take place on Tuesday afternoons from 3.30pm to 4.30pm. Students are required to meet at The Colin Young Community Centre then move to an allocated training area with their team.
  • B and C Team players are encouraged to train with the A Teams on these Tuesday afternoons. Students who attend 80% or more of the training sessions will be eligible for one co-curricular point per semester.
  • It is important that players can commit to their team for the Semester, so please ensure your child is able to attend all training sessions and games.
  • Alternative training sessions may be held at the discretion of the coaches. Students will be notified individually of these sessions.

COMPETITION DAY

Games:

Games will be played on Thursday afternoons between 1.00pm and 2.30pm. Our students will compete against Kimberley College, Kings College (Pimpama), Livingstone College, LORDS, and St Joseph’s College at various Colleges and sporting facilities on the Gold Coast.

Uniform Requirements:

On game days, students have permission to wear their Sports Uniform for the entirety of the day, including to and from the College. House Shirts are not permitted to be worn.

What to Bring:

  • College sports bag
  • Playing kit
  • Appropriate footwear
  • Drink bottle
  • Snacks
  • Lunch
  • Towel
  • Sunscreen

As per College Policy, mobile phones are not permitted and must be left in the mobile phone lockers and collected on return to the College.

Morning Tea and Lunch Arrangements:

  • Students will have time to eat Morning Tea and change into their appropriate team kit, if required, before boarding the buses.
  • Tuckshop will need to be pre-ordered via Flexischools prior to 8.00am and collected between 10.55am and 11.20am (Morning Tea) on game days. No lunchtime service will be available.
  • Students will be able to eat their lunch and snacks during their ‘off’ game time.

Spectators:

As per AGCC guidelines, spectators are not permitted at any AGCC games.

MEDICAL NOTE

Students with asthma should always keep their inhalers with them. Students at risk of anaphylaxis must also carry an EpiPen to training and game day events.
